US Gives Assistance to Pakistan

Pakistan and United States signed an agreement to provide $200 million in direct U.S budget support for Pakistan’s federal Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) 2006-2007. The signing ceremony was represented by Pakistan’s Minister of State for Economic Affairs,Hina Rabbani Khar and Secretary for Economic Affairs Division, Khalid Saeed, U.S Ambassador, Ryan C. Crocker and U.S Agency for International Development (USAID) Director Jonathan Addleton.  The $200 million is part of the $ 3 billion pledge for assistance to Pakistan made by the US President George Bush to Pakistan President Musharraf during their meeting at Camp David in 2003.
