Jama Masjid’s imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari has expressed his intention to form an All India party. I do not think that the formation of such a Party is a solution for the under-representation of Muslims in the Parliament. A careful reckoning reveals that Muslims from Jammu and Kashmir have a little over representation in the Lok Sabha. Even South Indian Muslims have adequate representation. Muslims from West Bengal and the North- East are approaching their desired level. It is only Urdu speaking Muslims who should win 44 seats on the strength of their 63 per cent share in the country’s Muslim population who are severely under represented. They win far less number of seats that they deserve. First of all, the non-Urdu speaking Muslims will not cooperate in this All-India party which is of dubious benefit to them. Secondly, if the Muslims will unite under one party flag, the Hindu voters will not remain fragmented for long. The obvious result will be a handful of winners in 10-12 constituencies and a bitter harvest of hatred and enmity. This really is not a feasible solution. Let us think of some other way out of this problem.

Monotheism is belief in one God and this is one of the most important aspects of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. This belief is very important to the followers of these religions. They also hold the holy land where many of their holy sites are located to be very important. It is with great disappointment that this letter had to be written in order to inform monotheistic believers that the Palestinian Authority issued a large stamp featuring an image of the Canaanite god Ba'al. In the Bible (Deuteronomy 4:3 Judges 2:11, 2:13; and in the Koran As-Saffat 37:125) Ba'al is an idol and a false god who is in opposition to the one and only true God. Thus, this stamp is considered to be blasphemous to monotheistic believers because of what is written about Ba'al in the holy books of these faiths. Also, the fact that the stamp was issued by a government that controls parts of the holy land makes it even worse. As a result, it is hoped that the Palestinian Authority not only apologizes to believers but also withdraws from circulation this pagan stamp which insults the believers of all three monotheistic religions.
Though rich in "Deeniyat", Islamic Voice is lacking in information regarding various courses, coaching for the competitive examinations and coaching for them.

This is with reference to "Tips for a Successful Wife" (August 2001). Too much has been written and talked about a obedient wife but what about the duties of a married man? I know a whole lot of pardanasheens who are pure, holy and excellent housewives. They are suffering within the four walls of their house because they have no say or control over financial matters. Debts and unmarried daughters are their main cause of worry. They don't venture out to earn due to male dominance, parda or weakness. Can't your esteemed magazine provide tips to a man to make his married life successful? If the men start reading the Quran with meanings, perhaps they would make much better husbands.

The article titled 'Muslim Women: Service Above Self' by M. H. Lakdawala was an excellent one. The article helps to create positive thinking about educating Muslim women. The editorial "Being Proactive" was also a motivating one.
It seems that more advertisements are encroaching into the heart of Islamic Voice, where more serious articles were taken shelter earlier.

Me and my family find Islamic Voice extremely engrossing. The children's corner is coming up with very inspiring stories. I request you to include Supplication (Dua) every month with transliteration.

The Arab and Muslim countries should support the US in punishing the attackers of the WTC and other US buildings. Besides the Muslim countries should solve their burning problems of Palestine, Kashmir etc. The US must come out with solid evidence against the persons, organizations and regimes which support this kind of acts.
