Pernambut to have a Degree College

Pernambut (Tamil Nadu): The newly established Merit Haji Ismail Sahib College will begin degree classes from June this year. The college is named after businessman-philanthropist Merit Haji Ismail Sahib, who passed away in 1967 after setting up several schools and institutions.
College spokesman Tufail Ahmed informed Islamic Voice that the college will have B.Com, BBA, B.Sc Computer Science, and B.Sc Mathematics courses from this year. The campus has been constructed at Kondamalli, two kilometers from the small town with a population of around one lakh. Mr. C. Haji Ahmed Basha is the President of the Managing Committee while Haji Zahoor Ahmed is the Secretary. The college will admit only boys. It is affiliated to Thiruvalluvar University in Vellore.
Pernambut, known for leather industry and Unani pharmacies, is located on the Bengaluru- Chennai Highway.
