Hyderabad: Chicago-based oncologist Dr. Mohammed Tajammul Hussain emphasized the need to shift from material success to true happiness at the launch of his book, Much is Misery: Hope, Healing, and Happiness. Hosted by the Media Plus Foundation in collaboration with the Chicago Muslim Medical Alliance (CMMA) at Nizam Club, the event gathered intellectuals, dignitaries, and literary figures.
Chief Guest La Shawn Ford, a Chicago state representative, praised the book for challenging societal norms, highlighting that wealth does not guarantee happiness. Dr. Hussain, drawing from his experience with terminally ill patients, shared that many longed for love and connection rather than material riches in their final days.
The 268-page book, edited by Dr. Syed Khaled Shahbaaz, explores the paradox of wealth and well-being, urging a shift toward gratitude and meaningful relationships. Beyond writing, Dr. Hussain has championed equitable healthcare through CMMA and a telemedicine center in Hyderabad, providing free consultations to patients in India.
Dignitaries, including Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan Nasir Ali Khan and healthcare leaders from Chicago, praised Dr. Hussain’s contributions. Earlier, he presented the book to Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy.
