Manama, Bahrain: Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim called for unity among Muslim nations to combat sectarianism at the Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference (IIDC). He stressed that divisions weaken political cooperation and hinder global solidarity, particularly on issues like Palestine and Syria.

Anwar aligned his message with Al Azhar’s Grand Imam, urging leaders to reject religious fanaticism and take concrete action beyond rhetoric. He emphasized the need for diplomatic and economic support for Palestine and highlighted Syria’s potential as a model for unity.

Concluding, he called for integrity and collective action, urging the ummah to stand as one with a shared purpose.
