Iran is recognized as one of the top 10 nations possessing power-creating technologies, according to Seyyed Ahmad Fazelzadeh, President of the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC). Speaking during the visit of Peyman Jebeli, Head of Iran’s Broadcasting (IRIB) to the ISC, Fazelzadeh highlighted Iran’s impressive standing in global scientific advancements.
As of 2024, Iran ranks 17th globally in scientific achievements, while it holds second place among Islamic countries according to the Scopus citation database. Scopus is a comprehensive citation database that includes bibliographic information on over 60 million documents from around 5,000 publishers worldwide.
Fazelzadeh also announced plans to launch a dedicated portal for collaboration between the ISC and IRIB, aimed at fostering further cooperation between the two institutions. Jebeli emphasized the importance of this strategic partnership and expressed hope that the operational document for this collaboration would soon be put into effect.
