New Delhi: Ambassadors and diplomats from 19 Muslim-majority nations praised India’s deepening ties with the Islamic world, emphasizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s role in strengthening these relationships over the past decade.
The leaders gathered at the Sadbhavana Iftar, hosted by the Indian Minorities Federation (IMF) at the residence of Rajya Sabha MP and IMF Convener Satnam Singh Sandhu in New Delhi on 27th March 2025. The event reaffirmed India’s long-standing partnerships with Muslim nations, with diplomats acknowledging the country’s growing strategic, economic, and cultural engagements.
The iftar was attended by ambassadors and representatives from Somalia, Morocco, Afghanistan, Syria, Gambia, Mali, Bangladesh, Sudan, Djibouti, Algeria, Malawi, Cameroon, Chad, Guinea, Iraq, Côte d’Ivoire, Tanzania, Nigeria, Iran, and the UAE. Also present were Islamic scholars, religious leaders, intellectuals, and social reformers, including Majid Alnekhailawi, Maulana Syed Kalbe Rushaid Rizvi, Haji Syed Salman Chishty, and IMF co-founder Himani Sood.
Before breaking their fast, attendees prayed for global peace, harmony, and prosperity. The ambassadors highlighted India’s expanding engagement with South Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East, particularly in security and economic cooperation, further solidifying its role as a key partner in the Islamic world.
