Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has secured the top global ranking for empowering women in artificial intelligence (AI), according to the AI Index Report 2025 released by Stanford University’s Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI).

The report highlights the Kingdom’s efforts to close the gender gap in technology and positions Saudi women at the forefront of the AI revolution. This milestone reflects the success of national strategies aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, aimed at increasing female participation in high-growth sectors.

In addition to its leadership in gender inclusion, the Kingdom also ranked:
• 3rd globally in AI-related job growth,
• 4th in the number of leading AI models developed, and
• 8th in attracting global AI talent.

Saudi Arabia is also among just seven countries to publish advanced AI models, joining the ranks of the United States, China, France, Canada, and South Korea.

Driving this progress is the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), which has implemented inclusive policies and training programs. Notably, SDAIA’s “Elevate with Google Cloud” initiative has trained over 25,000 women in AI and technology fields.

The AI Index recognition underscores the Kingdom’s emergence as a global innovation hub, combining technological advancement with inclusive development.
