MWL to Host Global Conference on Islamic Unity in Makkah
Riyadh: The Muslim World League (MWL) has expressed profound gratitude to King Salman for his patronage of the upcoming Global Conference for Building Bridges Between Islamic Schools of Thought and Sects, scheduled to take place on March 6-7 in Makkah during Ramadan.
MWL Secretary-General Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa announced that members of the organization’s bodies, assemblies, and councils have acknowledged the King’s continued commitment to fostering Islamic unity and solidarity.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the conference will bring together leading muftis, scholars, intellectuals, and representatives from senior Islamic councils, jurisprudential academies, and religious institutions spanning different sects and denominations.
This initiative aims to establish a unified platform for constructive dialogue, promoting mutual respect for doctrinal diversity while coordinating efforts and resources to strengthen Islamic unity.
Al-Issa emphasized that King Salman’s sponsorship reflects Saudi Arabia’s enduring role in reinforcing Islamic solidarity, particularly among scholars from various sects.
Furthermore, members of MWL’s Supreme Council, Jurisprudence Council, and World Supreme Council for Mosques lauded the Kingdom’s influential position and its respected voice among Muslim nations worldwide. (Extract from arab.news/)
