Prof. Shahid Ashraf, Pro Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) took over as Officiating Vice Chancellor of JMI consequent upon the acceptance of the resignation of Prof. Talat Ahmad, VC, JMI by the President of India who is the Visitor of the university, Prof. Ahmad has been relieved from the charge of VC, and will be soon joining as the VC of the University of Kashmir. Prof. Ahmad was Jamia’s VC for the last four years. Prof. Shahid Ashraf has been serving as Pro Vice Chancellor of the University from August 2016. Prior to that, he had served the university as Registrar and Finance Officer too. He is currently heading the Department of Economics, JMI too.
