Tehran: The Central Bank of Iran’s Governor, Mohammadreza Farzin, announced the initiation of discussions for a joint monetary channel among Islamic nations during the sixth meeting of central bank governors from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul. The main objectives of these negotiations include improving money transfer methods for tourists and businesses, establishing a common financial channel among member countries, and promoting the use of national currencies in trade transactions .

The move aims to enhance economic cooperation and streamline financial operations across OIC member states, reflecting a growing interest in regional integration and collaboration .
