Raichur University – Prof. Muzaffar Assadi is OSD

Bengaluru: Prof. Muzaffar Assadi of Mysore University has been appointed the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) of the Raichur University with effect from March 27. The post automatically leads the incumbent to be the founding vice chancellor of the University which will be coming up after bifurcation from Gulbarga University. The new university is being set up in Raichur and will have nearly 150 degree colleges and two post-graduate centres under it. Prof. Assadi obtained his M.Phil and Ph.D from Jawaharlal Nehru University in political science and joined Mysore University in 1994. He later did a post-doctoral study at the University of Chicago.
