Armenia’s Economy Minister, Vahan Kerobyan, has announced plans to open a trade route connecting Armenia and India through Iran by May 2024. The proposed route will link the Indian port of Mumbai to Armenia via Iran’s Chabahar port. Minister Kerobyan recently met with his Indian counterpart and the head of the company operating the Indian section of Chabahar port to discuss and outline an action plan to ensure the route’s operational readiness by the specified date. The initiative is part of the International North-South Transport Corridor, aiming to enhance cargo movement efficiency between India, Iran, and Russia.
