The second ministerial meeting of the GCC-Central Asia Strategic Dialogue, convened in Tashkent, underscored the shared commitment to nurturing a sustainable and forward-looking partnership rooted in mutual interests and common values.
With a focus on enhancing trade and investment exchanges, participants emphasized the importance of collaboration in bolstering sustainable supply chains, transportation networks, and access to vital resources such as food, energy, and water.
In a unified statement, priority was given to the implementation of collaborative investment projects, the advancement of clean energy initiatives, environmental conservation efforts, and the exchange of knowledge in education and healthcare.
As members of the Islamic Organization for Food Security, the participating nations reaffirmed their dedication to addressing food security challenges through collective action.
Acknowledging Saudi Arabia’s hosting of Expo2030 in Riyadh, attendees pledged their support for the event, aiming to foster economic and cultural ties between the GCC and Central Asia.
In discussions concerning regional and global affairs, there were calls for Israel to adhere to international humanitarian law, particularly in providing aid to Gaza. The group urged swift and sustainable ceasefire measures, emphasizing the protection of civilians in Gaza and the West Bank.
Reiterating the significance of resolving the Palestinian issue through political means, participants advocated for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, including East Jerusalem, in accordance with international law and relevant UN resolutions.
Committing to intensified cooperation in security, border control, and the fight against terrorism and organized crime, the attendees stressed the importance of upholding universal human rights and the rule of law. They emphasized the preservation of the multilateral system and the pursuit of peace, security, and prosperity on a global scale.
Chaired by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov, the meeting brought together senior officials from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan, alongside representatives from the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, and the GCC secretary-general.
