Bangalore: The 10th interfaith programme 2013, organised by The Dalai Lama Foundation, New Delhi, was held in Bangalore on August 12 and 13, 2013. Comprising of a 15 day programme, over 30 youngsters from different parts of the world participated in this, which also included lecture and interactive sessions on different faiths like Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Jainism and Buddhism.
The two-day session in Bangalore on Islam was conducted by A.W. Sadathullah Khan, editor, Islamic Voice, and Ashraf Mahmood. The participants got an exposure to the basic tenets of Islam, ethics, morality, status of women in Islam and finally the message of the Quran.
The participants were taken to a mosque and witnessed the prayers.
More than just speeches and lectures, the participants received a practical and spiritual orientation to Islam through interactive time frames and mosque visits.
