Aurangabad: Muslims of Maharashtra, through the Muslim Reservation Conference in Aurangabad, gave a loud and clear message to all the political parties that, “No reservation means No vote”. Organised jointly by Muslim Reservation Front, Awami Vikas Party, JDS, and MIM, the Muslim reservation conference attracted number of Muslims especially youngsters at the venue, Aam Khaas ground. According to the National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC), 6.8% Muslims in Maharashtra hold bank accounts, but only 0.2% are able to get bank loans. Asaduddin Owaisi, speaking on representation of Muslims in Maharashtra police, said out of 1,80,000 personnel, only 1,945 are Muslims. Quoting a survey, Owaisi said 23% (5,600) of jail inmates in Maharashtra are Muslims, out of which 65% are between the age group of 18-35. Quoting figures on housing schemes, he said the target of the scheme was 11,670 houses, out of which only 3,265 were built, and only 20% of those houses were allotted to Muslims.
