Solapur: Muslim Samanvay Samiti (MSS), (Muslim Coordination Committee) is a NGO working for the upliftment of Muslims all over Maharashtra. On 5th May, the Muslim Teachers Parivar Melava was organised at Solapur, Maharashtra, with the objective of mobilizing and motivating Muslim teachers to play an active role in the development of Muslim children, they teach and parents with whom they communicate. The two issues which are acute to the Muslims are lack of education and lack of employment. The goal of MSS is to promote education and employment among Muslims. Many grassroots level activists too participated in this meeting. Mahboob Kasar, an officer from the Sales Tax Department, is coaching Muslim students for MPSC, CRPF, Maharshtra Police and Railway services. Fayyaz, Secretary of MSS, pointed out that Muslims need to show commitment towards service to the community. “We need to work in a systematic manner. We need to keep our differences aside and work together to achieve the common goal of development and dignity of the Muslim community”, he pointed out.
