Mr. Firoz Ali, research scholar of the Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has been awarded NASI-Swarna Jayanti Puraskar, 2015 by The National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) for poster presentation in ‘Biological Sciences’ for his research paper entitled “Influence of operating conditions on the removal of Pb ions from aqueous solution by adsorption on Fly ash” during 85th Annual Session and Symposium on “Marine and Freshwater Ecosystem: Role in National Development” held at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Odisha. This award also carries a cash prize of Rs.5,000. The National Academy of Sciences, India is the oldest Science Academy in the country.
