Prof M Afshar Alam has been recently appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi. Prof Alam worked as a lecturer for a year after his MCA in 1995. He eventually joined Jamia Hamdard in the lecturer position and was promoted to the posts of reader and professor. He has also served as the Director, Computer Centre; Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering; Dean, School of Engineering Sciences and Technology (SEST), DSW, and Foreign Students Advisor at the Jamia Hamdard.
Prof Alam was currently serving as the Finance Officer of Jamia Hamdard. Distinguished Computer Science professor and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) alumnus.
