The Bearys Institute of Technology has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with North Dakota State University (NDSU), USA on October 25th 2013. The MOU entails several joint programmes to be implemented by BIT and NDSU, like development of collaborative research and education, exchange of students and faculty, cultural exchange, jointly conducted seminars and workshops. Prof. Kalidas Shetty, Vice President for Global outreach, NDSU, USA visited the BIT campus to sign the MOU. Managing trustee Siddique Beary, Principal of BIT, Dr S.A. Khan, Campus Director, Dr M.Sainath and Senior Advisor, Dr S.K.Raikar, also were part of the programme. Dr. M.Sainath welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest to the guests. Dr. Sainath spoke about the need for more collaborations between Institutes of India and USA for better outreach and exchange of knowledge between nations. The HOD of Information Science Department, Prof. Sheikh Moidin K.M, gave a presentation about the vision with which the institute was established and its unique motto of Clarity of mind + Purity of heart around which all the activities and the events of the institute revolve. He also briefed the audience about the academic achievements of BIT. Principal of BIT Dr .S.A. Khan, outlined the vision of BIT towards technology, research and development for the future. He outlined some of the activities already underway with respect to RandD, like internships with industries, research activities in the field of Solar Energy and Aerodynamics, Bio-medical, Gas Dynamics, Fuzzy Logic in Fluid Dynamics, Parallel Computing, Cloud Computing , Nuclear Physics etc. He also mentioned that BIT is well on the way to becoming an Evaluation Centre for Nuclear Data as a part of a global network coordinated by IAEA Vienna and NNDC Brook Haven USA. Siddique Beary addressing the audience, congratulated the faculty and students of B.I.T for their achievements. Prof. Kalidas Shetty in his address, called upon the students to make use of the opportunities given to them. He said that this MOU will open a door for productive research and collaboration. The program was concluded by vote of thanks proposed by Mr.Rajashekhar, lecturer in Department of Mechanical Engineering.
