Died: Maddekar Basheer Ahmed

Died: Maddekar Basheer Ahmed, noted social worker of Vaniyambadi died on June 16. A one-man NGO, Basheer worked relentlessly for improvement of civic amenities in the tannery town for several decades. He was 94. He is survived by a daughter. His wife and another daughter had predeceased him. He was buried in the graveyard of his ancestral village of Jafferabad.
