Azerbaijan is advancing its green energy transition by attracting foreign investments and launching its first 100-kilowatt floating solar plant on Lake Boyukshor near Baku, funded by the Asian Development Bank. Opened in July, the plant is projected to generate over 160,000 kilowatt-hours annually. This strategic move, ahead of the COP29 global climate summit in Baku, showcases Azerbaijan’s commitment to renewable energy and reducing carbon emissions. With plans to increase renewable energy to 30% of its total energy by 2030, Azerbaijan is positioning itself as a key player in the green energy sector.
