Bengaluru: Around 70 representatives from Uttar Pradesh, New Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Assam, Rajasthan and West Bengal attended an educational workshop on December 19-2014 at the Al-Ameen Residential School (ARS) at Hosakote, nearly 30 kms east of Bengaluru.
Addressing the participants, Al-Ameen Education Society Founder and Chairman Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan exhorted them to concentrate on setting up schools for modern education in every corner of their states. He advised them to keep away from politics and devote themselves to educational advancement of the Muslims. He said once two generations of the community get educated within 20 years, they will themselves chart their course in the field of economy and socio-political empowerment.
Dr. Mumtaz said Al-Ameen’s work has progressed in states like West Bengal, Assam, Odisha, Jharkhand, Tripura, Meghalaya and Manipur. He informed that nearly 50 educational institutions have been set up in West Bengal during the last two years ever since the Al-Ameen delegations visited the state. He said Al-Ameen Educational and Charitable Trust will soon be set up in Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. He suggested that Mr. Kaleemul Hafeez of Badaun be appointed the nodal officer for the nascent Al-Ameen movement in Uttar Pradesh where stirrings of educational awareness are evident among Muslims.
Al-Ameen’s Hony Secretary Mr. Subhan Sharief announced the setting up of IIT-JEE coaching centre at Bengaluru this year. He said 20 bright students have been selected for intensive coaching out of the 400 applicants who appeared for an entrance test for the purpose.
Syed Zameer Pasha, Campus director of the Al-Ameen Residential School advised the delegates to avoid inferiority complex and follow the model of Al-Ameen. Treasurer J. Shafiulla, Joint Secretary Shaikh Dawood and others also participated.
