Aligarh: A Canada based alumnus of the Aligarh Muslim University, Mohd. Zia, has instituted three scholarships in the department of Education, AMU, with a cost of Rs. 4,50,000.
One scholarship will be awarded to a girl student who secures highest marks in B. Ed. (Science stream) in memory of his mother, Maqsood Jahan Begum. Another scholarship will be awarded to a girl student who obtains highest marks in MA (Education) in memory of Prof. Habibur Rahman, former Head, Department of Education. The third scholarship has been instituted in the name of Dr. Safia Sultana, former Chairperson of the department, which will be given to the topper of M. Ed. first semester examination every year.
