CA Topper Shadab Hussain
He used to devote 13 to 14 hours for studies.
Shadab Hussain, son of a tailor from Kota in Rajasthan, topped the CA final examination under Old Syllabus this year. Having had studied all in Hindi medium, Shadab scored 75% marks (597 out of 800) in the exam conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
Shadab’s success may be inspiring for the youth as he comes from an ordinary family. His father Mohammed Rafeeq is a tailor and mother Halima Ansari is a housewife. He is the only male child in the family with four daughters to the couple. He had earned a B.Com degree from Kota University. Even the topper in the CA examination under the new syllabus, Mr. Siddhant Bhandari comes from Rajasthan and hails from Jodhpur city.
The 23-year-old Shadab devoted 13-14 hours each day for self-study and was expecting to be among the top scorers. “This is the biggest achievement in my family. I was expecting a good rank since I was also among top scorers in the Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) exam,” he said. Hussain received his coaching at Resonant Coaching Institute in Kota, a city known for coaching institute for all kinds of competitive examinations.
Hussain told ‘The Chartered Accountant’, the journal of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, “CA course meets global expectations. The exposure is very vast and it’s the most economical course which helps even the students of a financially weak background to be amongst top professionally literate fraternity.”
He said the first credit for his grand success went to his parents for their infinite support. Then came the teachers who put in their extraordinary efforts. He also expresses gratitude towards his friend Rahul Ambwani who constantly exhorted him to excel in studies by telling him ‘Cross the limit to be first” and not to postpone what is a priority. ‘Sometimes later becomes never. Do it now’, he would urge. Shadab has also started his own channel on Youtube to guide students on various issues. He aspires to join some good corporate group and also continue to guide students.
For Shadab, complete discipline, continuity, dedication and patience were the mantras for success. He also took inspiration from American author Earl Nightingale, who had said, “Don’t give an excuse to your hard work and never complain about your fate. All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press on to your destination”.
Shadab says he used to take a break of 30 to 40 minutes break after every three hours of study and walked three to four kilometers. He began to reduce study hours as exam approached in order to keep away stress.
