New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) and University of Delhi (DU) will jointly offer admission for M.Sc. (Mathematics Education) for the academic session 2016-17 with an intake capacity of 10 in each of the universities (Total intake: 20) under Meta University concept. The course aims to prepare innovative mathematics educators, who can bring informed change in Mathematics pedagogy. The course is administratively managed by Cluster Innovation Centre from DU and AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, JMI. The course is considered an innovative and job-oriented course. Meta University students are taught by expert faculties of both the partner universities. They are awarded joint-degree carrying logos and signatures of competent authorities of partner institutes. Minimum qualification for admission in Meta University concept based course M.Sc. (Mathematics Education) is graduation degree in any discipline, provided the applicant has done at least two full-fledged papers in Mathematics at undergraduate level. There shall be a Common Entrance Test (85% weightage) followed by an interview (15% weightage). Only those applicants who will be shortlisted on the basis of Entrance Test will be called for interview. The number of candidates called for interview will be four times the number of seats available for the course. The applicants shall have an option to select Entrance Test Centre “ Delhi, Bengaluru, Jammu, Kolkata, Nagpur and Varansi.
