Bangalore:The Minority Directorate of the Karnataka Government has announced scholarships disbursement schedule for the 2014-15. The Merit cum Means Scholarship Scheme (fresh applicants as well as those who require renewal) will be available for those doing engineering and technology courses such as BE, B.Tech, or ME, M.Tech, MCA from IIT, IIM, or any recognised college or university. Others included in the category are those doing MBBS, BUMS, BAMS, MD, BPT, MPT, BDS, MDS, B.Sc in Nursing or M.Sc in nursing, any Pharmacy courses, or courses in Architecture, Veterinary Sciences, Chartered Accountancy or LLB or LLM in Law. Last date for applying is September 30, 2014 and for those seeking renewal, it is November 25, 2014.
The Director for Minorities Directorate has urged the candidates to enter correct details. He said last year the Directorate received 15,192 application for Merit cum Means Scholarship. Of these 11,267 candidates were sent the cheques through electronic transfer. But 192 candidates could not be sent the cheques as they had either furnished wrong bank account nos. or the IFS code of the banks. The applicants can seek more details for Merit cum Means Scholarships from www.gokdom.kar.nic.in. Those who could not receive the scholarships last year can approach the Directorate on [email protected] by furnishing accurate bank details.
