Copyright: Protection to the originator of material to prevent use without their permission
(تحریر،تصنیف، آرٹ ورک، تصویر، کارٹون یا ڈرامہ یا فلمی سکرپٹ جس پر مالکانہ حقوق رجسٹر کئے جاتے ہیں)

Arabic numerals: 0,1,2,3,4,5, (ie not Roman numerals I, II or VI)
(مغربی زبانوں میں مستعمل ہندسے جیسے ,(1, 2, 3, 4, نہ کہI, II, یا VI)اور جو عربوں کی وجہ سے رائج ہوئے)

Bar code: Machine readable code printed on products.
(کتب یا دیگر مصنوعات پہ چسپاں کوڈ جس میں قیمت اور دیگر معلومات درج ہوتی ہیں)

Blind Folio: An unprinted page.
(کتب میں شامل صفحہ جس پر طباعت ہونے سے رہ گئی)

Blurb: a short description of a book/author on a book jacket.
(کتاب کے اندرونی جیکٹ پر مصنف اور کتاب کا مختصر تعارف)

Drop cap: A large initial letter at the start of the text that drops into the line or lines of text below.
(پیریگراف کی ابتداء میں پھیلا بڑا حرف)

DPI: Dots per square inch, a measure of resolution for monitors, printers and scanners, typically 60, 300 and 1200 respectively

Emboss: An image pressed into paper to create a relief.
(حروف یا تصاویر کے نقش اُبھارنا)

Dummy: A mock-up of the layout at finished size.

Font (or fount): A set of characters in a typeface.
(ٹائپ کی شکل)

Ghost-writing: Writing a book, often an ‘autobiography’ for someone else. (کرایے کا مصنف)

ISBN: International Standard Book Number.
(کتابوں کے لئے عالمی فہرست میں دیا گیا نمبر)

Laminate: A thin transparent plastic coating applied to paper providing protection or accent colour.

MS (Manuscript):  Original written or typewritten work.
(دستی تحریر جو پرنٹنگ کے لئے بھیجی جاتی ہے)

Pagination: The numbering of pages in a book
(صفحات کے نمبر ڈالنا)

Offprint: A reprint of an article previously published in a magazine
(کسی جریدہ میں طبع شدہ مضمون محض مخصوص صفحات پر نقل کرکے مصنف کو پیش کرنا)

Spine: Back or binding edge of a book or publication (کتاب کا پشتہ)

Spiral Bind: continuous wire or plastic looped through holes punched along bound edge
(کتابی صفحات کو پلاسٹک وائر سے جلد بند کرنا)

Annotate: Provide additional comments or explanations to a text. (کتاب کے متن پر نوٹ لگانا)

Superscript: small characters set above the normal letters, e.g., S2
(سرنامہ یا بالا نوشت)

Subscript: Small characters set below the normal letters e.g., NA2SO4 (زیر نوشت)

Typo: typographical error
