Foster Mother
A foster mother is a woman who nurses and brings up another woman’s child.
Step Mother
Wife of one’s father who is different from the biological mother.
Half Brother/Sister
A half brother is one with whom one has only a single parent in common.
Surrogate Mother
A woman who bears a child on behalf of another woman, either from her own egg fertilized by the other woman’s partner, or from the implantation in her womb of a fertilized egg from the other woman. (Note: Surrogacy is not legitimate from the Islamic point of view).
