The University of Malaya (UM) has awarded an honorary doctorate in political science to Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars. This recognition celebrates his remarkable contributions to Islamic diplomacy. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim attended the ceremony, underscoring the significance of Al-Issa’s achievements. UM Pro-Chancellor Dr. Aishah Ong commended Al-Issa as a distinguished figure with substantial religious influence and widespread respect in the Islamic world. Al-Issa expressed gratitude for the honor, emphasizing MWL’s commitment to promoting tolerance and fostering dialogue and cooperation globally.
