Bangalore: Former Minister Prof. Mumtaz Ali Khan has set up Asian Forum for Harmony and Development aimed at forging communal harmony and amity among various communities. The Forum was inaugurated at Raj Bhavan on February 1 in the presence of Governor Shri H. R. Bhardwaj who called for shunning divisive politics in the name of caste and community.
Prof. Mumtaz who recently quit BJP and joined Congress Party, said the Forum will bring together people from various communities at a single platform. Prof. Khan has been running Salamat Kannada School under the Khawaja Gharibun Nawaz Society for several years.
Shri Vishveshwara Bhadra Channamalla, chief of the Nidumamidi Mutt, Maulana Maqsood Imran, peshimam of the Jama Masjid City, and Father Ronnie Prabhu also spoke at the occasion.
