New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has appointed a high-powered committee to review the functioning of Hajj Committee of India and State Hajj committees. It will be headed by former Chief Justice of Orissa High Court, Justice Bilal Nazki who hails from Jammu and Kashmir.
Ishrat Aziz, former ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Begum Noor Bano, former MP from Rampur, and Mehmood-ur-Rehman, Director, Bombay Mercantile Cooperative Bank,  are members on the panel. The panel has been directed to submit its report within 10 months. The Committee has invited opinions and recommendations regarding improvement of Hajj operations from various states.
