Chennai: The United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) has invited applications for the 2014 Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program from primary, middle and secondary school teachers.
The program will bring teachers from Chile, Finland, India, Israel, Mexico, Morocco and Singapore to the US for one semester. November 20 is the last date for submitting applications.
Primary and secondary level library media specialists, guidance counsellors, curriculum specialists, special education coordinators and teacher trainers are also eligible to apply. Administrators and academic coordinators who spend at least 50% of their time in classroom teaching are also eligible to apply, according to a release from the USIEF.
Selected teachers will be placed at a US host university’s graduate school of education from mid-August to mid-December 2014. The host university will provide a broad range of resources in the teachers’ fields of expertise.
Teachers who are selected to participate in the program will enroll in advanced undergraduate or graduate level classes, work toward the completion of a capstone project of their own design, observe classes, conduct seminars or workshops in local schools and engage in other teaching-related activities.
