New Delhi: Classes for the much-awaited B.Sc. in Aeronautics course started at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), on September 12. JMI is currently the only Central University in the country which is running B.Sc. Aeronautics course.
New classrooms, state-of-the-art laboratory and workshops have been setup for this course at JMI. To teach mechanical and avionics aspects, a hanger for airframe and engine with a battery shop has also been developed.
Prof. Mahtab Alam, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, said, “This course has tremendous scope considering the growth in the aviation industry in the last few years and is expected growth in future. We have a good combination of industry people and academicians to teach students of this course. The theoretical aspects of the course will be taught at the Faculty of Engineering, JMI while the practical training part will be provided at PHL facilities.”
