Appointed Member of NIDM

Mr. Najeeb Jung, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia has been nominated to the National Institute of Disaster Management as a Member. The Institute has been set up for training and capacity building for managing natural disaster in India on a national scale. The National Centre of Disaster Management, constituted under an Act of Parliament in 1995, was re-designated to give the present name of National Institute of Disaster Management by the Disaster Management Act 2005 passed by President of India on 9 January 2006.
