New Delhi: Ghulam Rasool Dehlvi, a PhD Scholar, from New Delhi, has been awarded the Hizmet Essay prize for 2015. The Rumi Forum organized the 2015 essay-writing contest in partnership with the Hizmet Studies Review, which is based at the KU Leuven University in Belgium. The Hizmet Essay Contest is an annual contest series that encourages research on the Hizmet movement as well as the works of the Turkish Islamic scholar, Fethullah Gulen. The contest aims to motivate individuals to think critically about issues that affect the international society.
Contest participants were asked to evaluate the societal impact of the activities of the Hizmet movement and the ideas of Fethullah Gulen, and how they can be used in the context of countering violent extremism. Ghulam Rasool Dehlvi had submitted an essay on the Hizmet’s approach to de-radicalization.
