Mohammad Shoaib, student of Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar, has bagged nine gold medals in the undergraduate course (BVSc) on the convocation day of the university recently. He is the son of a government pharmacist from Raichur. Currently he is studying MVSc in Orissa and wants to be a teacher and researcher. After the felicitation, Shoaib told media representatives that veterinary sciences was not attracting enough young talent because of people’s obsession towards medical and engineering. “I hope the success of veterinary graduates makes parents and students realise the importance of fields like veterinary,” he added.
