Shanimol Usman from Alappuzha
Shanimol Usman, General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has been fielded by the United Democratic Front (UDF) Allapuzha LS constituency in Kerala. Shanimol is an advocate and the first woman general secretary of the AICC from the State. She is being opposed by CPM’s A. M. Ariff, MLA representing Aroor Assembly constituency under the Alappuzha constituency. The LS constituency has around 9.95 lakh voters, but only two lakh voters are Muslims.
