Maeeshat Awards for Businesspersons

Bangalore: Mr. Abdullah Akbar Ali, CEO of the mPower Labs and Nawaz Shariff were adjudged the best businessmen while Shahnaz Zaki Khaleeli, technical director of Pharma Life India Limited was presented the award for the best woman entrepreneur by the Maeeshat Media Group on October 22 here in an impressive function. Syed Yaseen bagged the award for innovation. The Muslim Industrialists Association was adjudged the winner of the Corporate Social Services Award 2013.
Mr. Riaz Danish, editor Bainulaqwami Maeeshat, a journal focusing on the minorities business and economy, and convener of the award ceremony, welcoming the audience, said it was essential that minorities should get into the economic mainstream of the nation to keep pace with the progress and growth. Mr. Imad Hassan Chowgule, chairman of the Imad Group from Qatar, highlighted the role of the media in linking all sections with the economic progress.
Beary Group Chairman, Mr. S. M. Beary while recounting his own experiences, said business should be pursued as passion rather than as fashion. He said several companies have defrauded Muslim community in the name of Islamic business practices and interest-free business and such groups have immensely damaged the credibility of the Muslim businesses and businessmen. He emphasized that honesty was prime requisite for growth of business and people come to trust only those institutions which are consistently honest.
Mufti Barkatullah, interest-free business activist from the United Kingdom, said the younger generation should be made aware of the basics of the Islamic economic system.
Danish Riaz said the organization began as a event organizer in 2009 and has emerged as a powerful media group. He said the group maintains websites in five languages viz, Urdu, Hindi, Persian, English, Arabic and French.
