This is with reference to the article “Commitment, Akhira and Power of Engagement” by Mike Ghouse (Islamic Voice July 2015). It is apparent that the author is ignorant regarding the concept of Akhira as stated in the Quran. Belief in Akhira is fundamental to Islamic teachings. Those who understood the concept of Akhira had extremely prosperous worldly life as well. Unfortunately, the present day societies are driven by greed for worldly gains alone, ignoring Akhira. This has created disastrous consequences all around. Let us follow the Quranic teachings with sincerity and devotion, prosperity will follow by Allah’s grace.
