This is with reference to the “Our Dialogue” column in the May, 2013 issue of Islamic Voice, and the question about Black Magic. The subject challenges the very basic concept of Islam and Iman. How can a force other than Allah influence the things that happen in this world? If you believe if this, you are out of sync from the basic principles of Islam. You are treated by a physician and you get relief not because of him, but because of Allah. So is the case with Black Magic, I feel. Though the question was on black magic, the reply was confusing. Magic is practised by many people in the country. There are many magicians who stage their shows in India. No doubt it is just a trick and illusion. But black magic is totally different. The matter is very sensitive and should be handled accordingly.
