Sharjah: Masnavi Sherif Tamil Translation 6th Part was released on 9th November 2021 at Writer Forum, Hall No 7 at Expo Center, Sharjah during the Sharjah International 40th Book Fair.
Sharjah International 40th Book Fair was inaugurated by Sharjah Ruler H.E. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi on 3rd November 2021. In this Book Fair UAE, India, Oman, Saudi Arabia and various countries thousands of publishers participate. Arabic, English, Tamil, Malayalam and various language books are published.
Masnavi Sheriff is an extensive poem written in Persian by Jalal al-Din Muhammad Balkhi, also known as Rumi. The Masnavi is one of the most influential works of Sufism, commonly called “the Quran in Persian”.
It has been viewed by many commentators as the greatest mystical poem in world literature. The Masnavi is a series of six books of poetry that together amount to around 25,000 verses or 50,000 lines. It is a spiritual text that teaches Sufis how to reach their goal of being truly in love with God.
The Masnavi Sheriff was translated into Tamil Language in Seven Parts. The Sixth part was released in the book fair by the social worker Alhaj Mohammed Maahroof. The first copy of the book was received by Mr Sanjay Ghosh of Manager, Publication Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
