Bangalore: Muskaan Home for the visually challenged, speech and hearing impaired persons will be inaugurated in July. Its chairman, Dr. Salaam Musheer informed Islamic Voice that the Muskaan Home building has come up on a plot of land in Thanisandra extension in the city. The building which will be a home as well as school for the visually challenged, speech and hearing impaired persons has four floors and 1,400 square feet area. It will initially take 60 children, twenty each in the category of blind, deaf and dumb. The foundation stone for the building was laid in 2011 by Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, founder of Al-Ameen Educational Society.
Dr. Musheer who has so far set up Buzurgon ka Ghar :Home for the Aged and Apna Ghar, children’s home together with Millat High School in Kolar, Apna Ashiyana, a children’s home on Bannerghatta road in Bangalore has been constantly thinking of raising social infrastructure that can help the underprivileged sections and disabled people in the community.
He said so far nearly one crore rupees has been spent on the building for Muskaan, but funds to the tune of Rs. 10 lakh were still needed to complete the remaining work. He has appealed for contributions for the same. The School would employ six instructors who can impart training to the disabled people.
