Mumbai: The Government of Maharashtra has sanctioned funds for Urdu Ghars in six cities of the State, namely Mumbai, Nanded, Sholapur, Nagpur, Malegaon and Aurangabad. The foundation stone for the first Urdu Ghar in series was laid in Nanded in the third week of February. It is being constructed on a 1.5 acre land at a cost of Rs. 8.16 crore. It will have a 500-seat capacity auditorium, lodge for the scholars and researchers, two committee rooms and a library. The Urdu Ghars will be constructed in Mughal architectural style.
