An electrician’s daughter bags prestigious US scholarship.
New Delhi: SubiaParveen, a student of 10th standard of the Jamia Senior Secondary School has been selected for the prestigious Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Scholarship. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar met SubiaParveen and congratulated her for the achievement. Subia’s parents were also present during the meeting. Subia has been selected for the prestigious scholarship sponsored by US Department of State. She will be getting US $ 28,000 scholarship to study for a 10-month duration programme in U.S. The programme will be held from August 2019 to June 2020.
Subia’s father Kamaluddin Ahmed is an electrician in the JamiaMilliaIslamia. Subia studied in the school from Nursery class.
