Udupi: A group of youth in Manipal have launched a unique app – ‘eRamadan’ that will cater to the religious needs during the holy month of Ramadan, informs Daijiworld.com, a news portal of the coastal Karnataka. Mohammed Yunus Tonse, an engineer, is leading the Manipal-based company, Tonse Technologies, which developed and launched the app. Nihal Karkala, leading this project is an automobile expert.
The current features in the app include special supplications throughout the month and year, prayer timings according to location, location of nearby mosques, fasting guide and benefits. “Our target audience will be those who are religious and tech-savy, adding to the apps of lifestyle segment,” said Tonse.
“One feature to be included soon would be availability of the holy book Quran in several local languages,” he said. In the meantime, the firm is also available for joint collaborations or development and sponsorships. The developers team includes A.
