Bangalore: Iqra International Educational Foundation has launched a Free Institutional Account for one year for free downloading of its e-books for institutions. Foundation Chairman, Dr. Abidullah Ghazi who was here for a couple of days in June toldIslamic Voice that ebooks.iqra.org provides easy access to all Iqra publications. He said, “We are offering one year free access to all educational institutions to help them become familiar with our system. Our site is visited by educators, individuals and institutions from 126 countries.”
The digitization of the Iqra publication was done by Impelsys, an IT firm at Bangalore. The firm has been commissioned to help the institutions with registration process of the institutions. After the completion of the year, the institutions will have the option to purchase books for classrooms at 25% discounted rate. They will also have the option to rent each textbook for one academic year at 75% discounted rate.
The Iqra Foundation has prepared the Islamic curriculum in English grade wise from Grade one till the completion of high school complete with textbook and workbooks and also prepared non-detailed textbooks and teachers manuals.
Dr. Ghazi who hails from Uttar Pradesh and acquired his doctorate from Harvard University in the United States set the Foundation 30 years ago in Chicago and he along with his wife, Dr. Tasneema Ghazi, devoted his lifetime in preparation of the curriculum. For the last five years, the Foundation has been in the process of digitization of the books.
