Films from other languages need to be translated to be understood in countries where the language in which the film was originally made is not understood. This is done in two ways. First among them is dubbing. In dubbing, the local language speaker sits in the studio and the films is shown to him. He speaks the dialogues in the local languages in such a way that his language flow must synchronise with the lip movement of the actors as far as possible. Dubbing is often expensive as it need prior writing of dialogues exactly in the same period of time as is the case of the original. It is therefore an expensive process. When it is not possible, the films carries subtitles in the local language which appear towards the lower part of the screen.
