Jeddah: Ten Saudi artists will be among 365 others from around the world who will be part of an attempt at creating the world’s largest painting in Morocco later this year. Artists from 26 countries will travel to Morocco on June 29, to take part in brainstorming sessions and discussions about the proposed painting, which will run until July 7. The Saudi artists are being sponsored by Arabian Wings in partnership with Abdul Latif Jameel Community Initiatives (ALJCI).
The initiative is being organized by Moroccan Abda Society of Art and Culture, under the auspices of the Moroccan King Mohammed VI, the Moroccan Ministry of Culture and Information and the Ministry of Heritage. The painting in Marrakech will be on a silk cloth and with the theme “Youth and environment, paint the green future.” It will seek to enter the Guinness Book of World Record. Mohammed Bahrawi, owner and founder of Arabian Wings, said the 10-day educational and cultural exchange program in Morocco aims to spread awareness about a healthy environment. Moreover, the Marrakech Ministry of Culture and Information will honor artists from around the world for spreading the message of peace and love. Saudi artist, Najla’a Felemban will be among those to receive the honors.
