New Delhi: Only 36 Muslim names were identifiable in the list of 1,236 candidates who cleared this year’s Civil Services exam and recommended for appointment. Following is the list of the candidates. B. Fouzia Tarannum, Muhammad Abdaal Akhtar, Md. Roshan, Baseer ul Haq, Zainab Sayeed, Safeer Karim, K. Arif Hafeez , Md. Imran Raza , Md. Sana Akhtar, Nabeel Ahmad Saad, Thameem Ansariyaa , Haris. S., Pathan Adee Daulatkhan , Modassar Shafi , Ghuncha Sanobar, Farah Zachariah, Saju Vaheeda, Afaq Ahmad Giri, C. Mohd. Yasin, Athar Aamir ul Shafi Khan, Md. Sameer Islam, Ehtesham Waquarib, Noorul Hasan, Sheik Samiur Rahman, Azhar Kabir, Md. Ikramullah Shariff, Wazim Mustafa, Masroor Ahmad, Razeem K. , Ansari Shakeel Ahmed, Maqsood Ahmed, Umar Farooque, Raunaq Jamil Ansari, Md. Ashraf J. S., Irfan Hafiz, Rizwan Basha Shaik
Of the candidates who were selected, Fauzia Tarannum is already serving as Assistant Commissioner in Income Tax Department in Bengaluru. She improved her ranking by appearing in the competitive exam this year and was listed at 31st position. Yet another candidate from Karnataka is Arif Hafeez who secured 135th rank. He is son of former DGP K. Hafeez.
A press release from Jamia Millia Islamia said, 19 candidates coached at the Residential Coaching Academy could find their name in the final list. Of these, six are from the Muslim community.

A press release from Crescent Academy, Aligarh, a subsidiary of Jameatul Hedaya, Jaipur said eight students coached at the Academy could find their name among the successful candidates of the civil services exam. It said another seven students of the Academy were selected in the Rajasthan State Civil services this year.
